Happy New Year from Athletic Republic
This time of year, we are compelled to make New Year's Resolutions, where we make a bold statement about doing something better or doing something less. While stating something grand can be uplifting and initially motivating, fulfilling the promise to ourselves is far more difficult and often leads to disappointment. To make it even more challenging the resolutions are often made without a definitive objective, like; limit screen time, volunteer more, save money, eat better, drink more water, etc. So, what if we were to pivot the idea of annual resolution and turn it into a time when we set annual goals. A goal that you can control based on your effort, that you can measure to track progress and that if achieved will help lead you to do something you want to do better.
Setting a goal requires that you also set an objective, the target which defines your accomplishment and a plan to guide you towards success. Worthwhile goals are worthy of your commitment of time, attention, practice, and perseverance. For you will benefit from getting better on your journey towards achievement.
As an athlete, goal setting is part of a pre-season plan as you choose to dedicate the effort to … make the team, earn a spot in the starting line-up, stand on a podium, set a record, play in college, or win a championship. As an athlete what you control is preparation and persistence. The athlete who is better prepared is able to extend the extra effort, be in position to face fears with courage), consider calculated risks, and compete as hard in the closing moments as they did at the start.
Athletic Republic has helped more than 2 million athletes achieve their goals, by improving their athletic foundation of speed, power, agility, strength, and stamina. For the athlete who is setting bold goals for 2025, make part of your plan an investment into improving your athletic ability. For if you become a better athlete, your coach can work with you to be a better competitor.
Let's make 2025 the year you exceed your expectations--because with the Athletic Republic advantage, you don't just set goals, you surpass them.
