These advantages include both sport-specific and fundamental movement skills: speed, explosiveness, lateral agility, foot speed, and more. They are skills that, while partially defined by natural talent, can also be taught and developed. That’s where we come in.

 

 

 

  

Science-Based Protocols

Athletic Republic was born out of the idea that there had to be a better, more effective way to train. Thirty years and over one million athletes later, we think we have the answers. We hold six patents and have developed 4000+ pages of proprietary speed and skill-specific training protocols that meet the demands of every sport and athlete. Athletic Republic training programs create faster, stronger, more explosive athletes who are able to play at game speed for longer and with fewer injuries.

  

  

Lead with Speed

When you train with Athletic Republic, you'll learn the skill of sprinting through immediate feedback from a performance coach and visual feedback from the mirror and the Dartfish video feedback system. We improve your running mechanics by improving stride length and frequency, knee drive, hip position, and arm swing. The result is a more fluid, powerful, and efficient running form. In other words, speed.

Power is Not Strength

Science says POWER = FORCE x VELOCITY. The more force you produce and the faster you do it, the more you separate yourself from other athletes on the playing field. Athletic Republic focuses on optimizing each athlete's ability to produce power. The treadmill, plyometric, and strength protocols are designed to enhance the function of specific neuromuscular pathways while eliciting coordination strategies that result in improved power output. We also measure and address any asymmetry in strength and power output to improve efficiency and reduce the chance of injury.

Dynamic Stability is Key

Agility hinges on your ability to control your center of gravity in all situations, including making quicker cuts and turns, maneuvering in traffic, and separating from your opponent. Dynamic stability means maintaining control of your body while under physical stress, delivering power in all directions and stability under all situations. We focus much of our training on the hip girdle, the area from which much of an athlete's ability to accelerate, decelerate, and maintain control originates. The result is not only a better performance, but a greater resistance to injury.

WE TEST

We TEST athletes to determine a performance baseline and identify areas for improvement; this data is used to create a personalized training program. At the end of a program, we test to measure gains.

 

WE TEACH

We TEACH athletes the same methods used by many of today's top professional and Olympic athletes to improve sport and position-specific movement skills.

 

WE TRAIN

We then TRAIN using the most scientifically proven programs that feature our patented technology, individualized training protocols, and real-time video analysis.

  

WE TRACK

We TRACK all athlete performance data, videos, training sessions, and trainer notes, which are stored and accessed through the AR Athlete app.

Equipment & Technology

At the heart of our programs are the proprietary equipment and software that make us the industry leader, delivering real results every time. Some, such as the PlyoFloor, are utterly unique, while others, like the Plyo Press Machine and Super Running Treadmill, are vast improvements on standard gym equipment. With the added integration of our cord technology, advanced video technology and proprietary software, athletes can see, feel, and track their progress.

Super Running Treadmill

If you want to gain speed and explosiveness, you have to teach your body how to move faster. The Super Running Treadmill accelerates faster and inclines more than standard treadmills to safely push athletes beyond their ground-based training limits by forcing them to work harder and run more efficiently to reach peak speeds. We use our treadmills to help athletes develop form similar to that of an Olympic sprinter: high knee drive, quick recovery, a stable midsection, and toes-up ground contact that minimizes braking and maximizes propulsion.

Plyo Press Machine

The AR Plyo Press machine's unique design makes it a safer and more effective way than squats and hip sleds to train lower body explosive strength and power. The footplate angle puts you in the proper athletic position to produce force through the balls of your feet, not the heels. The sled supports your lower back and reinforces proper mechanics when lifting heavy weights and doing explosive jumps. Using an exclusive weight loading pattern, the PPM provides variable resistance that optimizes the weight load.

Plyo Floor

The AR Plyo Floor is a cushioned wood surface with exclusive patterns designed to maximize quickness and explosiveness while improving dynamic stability. Exercises on the floor are easily scaled from simple beginner movements to complex ones coupled with resistance cords and soft foam hurdles for greater challenge. For any athlete, the Plyo Floor can dramatically improve balance, movement skills, and overall athleticism.

Pro Multi-Hip

The AR Pro Multi-Hip improves key abdominal and hip muscle strength essential for optimal athletic performance. It works the hip through the full range of motion and in all directions to develop not only the large muscle groups but the myriad small stabilizer muscles that are critical. Resistance settings can be adjusted from less than 15 pounds for lateral movement patterns to 375 pounds for dynamic power movements.

Video Feedback

Athletic Republic trainers use video technology to assist in athlete assessments and again during training to help fine-tune technique. Video feedback provides athletes instant insights on technical form and efficiency. Video review includes varying speeds or even frame-by-frame slow motion that reveals more than the human eye can see. This gives both the athlete and the trainer a chance to make subtle yet important adjustments to form and mechanics.

Our proprietary Athlete Information Management System allows us to monitor and quantify the improvements our athletes are making during training. We can also analyze athlete data for explosive power, dynamic stability and symmetry and provide a percentile ranking against the average produced by athletes throughout the network.

Plyo Press Power Quotient

The 3PQ provides a quick and accurate way to functionally test lower body power output by measuring the force and athlete exerts on a custom-built 3D force platform mounted to the Plyo Press. Trainers can measure force and power output during single or dual leg presses, jumps, or even isometrically at a wide range of angles. Our proprietary 3PQ testing software analyzes the test results to compare the athlete's overall power and symmetry, as well as tracking progress throughout training.

Conditioning Cords

Athletic Republic Conditioning Cords provide controlled resistance while allowing athletes to perform at game-speed velocities, greatly improving sport-specific power for hitting, throwing, running, shooting, spiking, serving, kicking, and/or jumping. Our patented SprintCords, KickingCords, ThrowingCords, PowerCords, Hitting Harness, and Warm-up Cords provide resistance without changing or affecting proper mechanics. When the conditioning cords come off, athletes produce more power than ever before.

Most of them have either played or coached at the highest levels of their sport, gained professional certifications (CSCS, ACSM, NASM), and/or have undergraduate or graduate degrees in exercise science, biomechanics, or athletic training.
