Summer’s supposed to be all about downtime, but very often it’s anything but. Between family vacations, camps, college tours, sports commitments, and summer jobs, it can feel almost as busy as the school year. And when you finally do have some down time, maybe all you want to do is sit on the couch with the video game controller or phone in your hand. Aaah, peace at last!
But ... what is your competition doing this summer? If they’re also just sitting on the couch in their free time, you’re in luck. It gives you the perfect opportunity to gain a step on them, because summertime is the ideal training season for many sports. It’s the time when you’re not focusing on practice, and can use it to get ahead physically ... to get stronger, faster, and more agile. To make your next season your breakthrough season. In other words, summertime is Go Time.
But don’t worry, you won’t have to sacrifice your entire summer to sweating it out in the gym. The name of the game is quality training time over quantity. Our hour-long workouts are planned and periodized for maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Focus and determination are what you bring to Athletic Republic; our trainers will bring the know-how and techniques to get the most out of every minute of training. They’ll also make sure you’re taking some time for recovery so you’re ready to go the next time.
Getting results takes consistency. You’ll have to show up (at least 2 times a week) and put in the work. While it may be hard, it doesn’t have to be lonely. Make it social (or competitive) -- grab a friend or a teammate, and train together! If you stick with it, at the end of the summer you WILL be stronger, quicker, more agile. You’ll move better, and have the core and hip strength that will help you resist injuries. We test our athletes before and after a training package, so you’ll have actual numbers on how much you improved. You’ll be the player that has the coach asking when you show up for preseason practices, “Wow, what did YOU do this summer?!” The one that will make your opposition wish they’d been training, too. The one poised for a big season.
So if you are dreaming big dreams about your next season, use the offseason or preseason to get better. Stop dreaming and start doing … it’s Go Time.
